November 10th Leader Meeting

Girl Guides are available at the G.S. store - however the skill set badges have not arrived as of yet. An email should be coming soon to let us know when.

Please consider registering for a Webinar on the GSRV website. These are free and contain information regarding the Girls' Guide programs as well as the Centennial Day of Service (October 2012). On the GSRV website, search under "webinar".

6 delegates (all girls or leaders age 12 or older by January 21,2010 are eligible), plus 3 alternates. Delegates must be chosen by December 2nd. If you are interested in becoming a delegate, please contact Laurie Powell-Anderson.

July 23-26 - 4 days. This is a Vista Star Service Unit Day Camp which is open to all ages in the VSSU. The 2012 camp is being organized by Megan Gonzalez. Her contact information is megonzalez@stkate.edu or 612-730-0119. The theme is Legacy - 100 years of Girl Scouting. Volunteers are needed to help organize and run the camps. Megan will be sending out a list of positions open for leaders / girls to volunteer for.

GS RV MN / WI was the top cookie selling organization in the ENTIRE country - with 5.4 MILLION boxes sold. AWESOME girls!

VSSU cookie coordinator for 2012 is Jennifer Kovelan. An easy to remember email to use for cookie questions is vistastarcookies@gmail.com.

The Vista Star Service Unit has been given a goal of $950 to raise to support the unit. GS families and friends will be asked to support the GS tradition. More information will be sent soon but a site at www.givemn.org will be set up as well as envelopes handed out. This is part of Give to the Max Day - November 16th

Pinewood Derby - DECEMBER 3RD - GETHSEMANE LUTHERAN CHURCH, HOPKINS - everyone should have picked up their cars from Nici Lawson. If not, contact her. Be creative and happy carving!

Saturday, February 25th, 2-4 Faith Lutheran Church, Minnetonka - START SAVING ALUMINUM CANS

Flier will be sent out in December / January. Troops can organize a booth in one of three categories. These must be made with recycled items.

GAMES / MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS (example - Troop 17811 will make a checkers game with cereal boxes and milk jug caps)

CRAFTS (example - potato chip bag bracelets)

INFORMATION (example - information on biking paths around the Twin Cities or greater MN)

Great Girl Gathering - MOA - March 10-12, 2012 - please consider attending as there will be lots of activities throughout the Mall. Type in GSRV website - Great Girl Gathering - for more information.

Megan Gonzalez will teach the flag ceremony at the January 12th, 2012 leader meeting for all those interested. Plan to stay after the normal meeting time for this.
